Above was the notice what My adsense account showed today. I clicked on it. And found the latest blog entry on Official Adsense blog. .....

"A follow-up to our referrals announcement
You may have seen our recent post about the upcoming changes to referrals promoting AdSense. Since we made this announcement, we've received a number of responses about the program being dependent on the location of the referring publisher. We've carefully considered your feedback, and have decided to modify the original plan."

Now all Non US Adsense Publishers have reason to smile. What say Darren Rowse ?

Change in Adsense policy for refferal ads

If you are non USA publisher displaying adsense referral advertisement on your website , you have reason to have anger on Adsense team.

Yesterday , the official adsense blog announced that they are going to make changes to Adsense referral programme policies.

Change No.1 : Change In Payment System
If Today, by clicking referral unit advertisement on your website someone joins the AdSense and makes $5 within 180 days you get a reward payment of $5. If he/she makes $100 within 180 days , then you will be rewarded payment of $250. Through Your website If 25 people who make $100 within a 180 day period you get a bonus payment of $2000

But Now Onwards ...
If you refer someone to AdSense who makes $100 within a 180 day period you get only $100.

Change No.2 Adsense Publishers outside of North America, Latin America, and Japan, will be retired from adsense referral programme.
I being being from India , can not continue adsense referral programme now onwards. Interesting to see that they are emphasizing the origin of publisher's country and not where the users come from to the website.

I never liked to display referral ads on my blogs , but those like Darren Rowse who are making huge money through adsense referral programme , will be at loss.
